For generations, women have encountered phrases like “this is no place for a woman,” yet at Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts, female employees not only find a place but excel. On this Women’s Day, Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts reaffirms its commitment to being an equal opportunity employer, challenging outdated stereotypes, and opening doors for more women in the hospitality industry.

At Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts in the Maldives, we spotlight the inspiring stories of women whose determination, ambition, and resilience are key to their success in an industry often seen as male-dominated. These women share their journeys, offering a glimpse into their passion and drive.

Malvika Pant – Balancing Strength and Serenity at Cinnamon Velifushi Maldives

For Malvika Pant, yoga transcends being a mere profession; it is a lifestyle. As both a Yoga Instructor and Guest Experience Assistant at Cinnamon Velifushi Maldives, she masterfully merges mindfulness with hospitality, creating a fulfilling career path.

“My love for yoga and helping people led me to take on this unique dual role,” Malvika explains. “Cinnamon Velifushi Maldives provided me the opportunity to showcase my skills while also allowing me to learn and grow daily.” A supportive work environment has been instrumental in her success. “It’s empowering to work in a place where women are respected, supported, and given equal opportunities to excel.”

Her advice for other women entering the field? “Believe in yourself, trust your journey, and never give up. Don’t hesitate to step outside your comfort zone. Every small step matters. Your place is where you feel confident and valued.”

Nasaim Nasym – Rising Through the Ranks at Cinnamon Dhonveli Maldives

Nasaim Nasym, a Guest Experience Assistant at Cinnamon Dhonveli Maldives, exudes warmth, passion, and dedication in all aspects of her work. From cashier to a key member of the Front Office team, her career progression reflects her ambition and perseverance.

“I’ve always been passionate about pursuing a career in hospitality,” Nasaim shares. “I thrive in dynamic, interactive environments, and this industry felt like the perfect fit for me.” Her journey at Cinnamon Dhonveli Maldives began as a cashier, but her natural ability to connect with guests quickly led to her promotion as a Guest Service Agent, where she truly found her calling.

Looking forward, Nasaim is determined to continue advancing in the industry. “In the next three to five years, I see myself in a supervisory role or even higher,” she asserts confidently.

Dr. Bimali Lakshitha – Thriving Beyond Boundaries at Cinnamon Hakuraa Huraa Maldives

For Dr. Bimali Lakshitha, becoming a resort doctor was an unexpected yet rewarding challenge. Attracted by the independence and change of pace the role offered, she embraced the opportunity to work in a remote setting with limited resources, which tested and strengthened her resilience.

“I found my place at Cinnamon Hakuraa Huraa Maldives by proactively learning about the culture, taking initiative, and building strong relationships with my colleagues,” she reflects. Though the medical field isn’t as male-dominated as other industries, Dr. Bimali acknowledges that men still dominate the field in many areas.

Her advice for other women is both practical and empowering. “Invest in yourself every day! Keep learning, growing, and adding value to your life. Strive for independence, and never compare yourself to others. Stand up for yourself and pursue what brings you joy. Be your own unique individual.”

A Future Full of Possibilities

The stories of Malvika, Nasaim, and Dr. Bimali illustrate the transformative nature of hospitality, where women are not just participating—they are thriving. At Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts, talent is nurtured, accomplishments are celebrated, and barriers are dismantled.

Women have always belonged in hospitality. Today, they have a space to lead, grow, and thrive. At Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts, a woman’s place is wherever she chooses to be.
