Maldives to Temporarily Halt On-Arrival VISA

President Solih has announced that on arrival visa to Maldives will be closed till further notice commencing from Friday, 27th March 2020. These are among the steps taken to contain and control the spreading of Covid 19, global pandemic crisis.

The majority of the world has closed its borders, including many destinations in Europe, Asia and Middle East. Major airlines have stopped its passenger operations and the world has come to a halt.

The government is taking stern measures to curb further spread of COVID-19 pandemic in the Maldives. Recently, President Solih has toured and inspected the latest isolation facilities in development at Farukolhufushi and near Tree Top Hospital Hulhumale.

Furthermore, President stated that resort staff may leave their workplaces and return home 14 days after the last tourist leaves the island.
