The Embassy of Japan in the Maldives was a star attraction at this year's Vacations Expo, held at Central Park, Hulhumalé, from April 25 to 27. The Japanese booth buzzed with energy as visitors immersed themselves in interactive cultural activities, demonstrating the growing cultural ties between Japan and the Maldives.

The event, back for its 5th edition following a pandemic-induced hiatus, was a vibrant celebration of travel and tourism, with over 35 exhibitors showcasing their products and services. Among these, the Japan Embassy stood out with its unique cultural offerings, drawing significant interest from both locals and foreign expats.

Visitors to the Japan Embassy's booth had the opportunity to play traditional Japanese games, adding an element of fun and engagement to the event.

In addition to games, the booth provided visitors with personalized calligraphy experiences. Embassy staff including Ambassador Takeuchi Midori helped visitors to write their names in Japanese, creating personalized keepsakes and furthering cultural understanding.

The expo, organized by Highrise Pvt Ltd, was a grand success, with sponsors including Ace Travels Maldives and a diverse lineup of exhibitors from across the travel and tourism industry. The event provided visitors with a comprehensive view of the latest travel trends and offerings, with special prizes and giveaways, including Umrah trips, guest house stays, and airline tickets.
