Cocoon Investment Donates COVID-19 Protective Gears to Maldives

On 11th May 2020, The Business Partners of Cocoon Investment Pvt Ltd has donated a consignment of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the Maldives. The consignment included Face Masks, Sanitizers and Hazmat Suits, which are essential to support the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in Maldives.

The generous donation was offered together with Cocoon Investment Ltd, Akbar Brother, Sri Lanka and Maldivian Business Partner, Bison Maldives.

The consignment was handed over today by  the Chairman of Cocoon Investment, Mr. Asgi Akbarally to His Excellency Omar Abdul Razzaq- High Commissioner of the Maldives to Sri Lanka to be presented to the people of the Maldives in this difficult times.

Cocoon Investments has been a leading brand in the Maldives tourism industry which introduced its First Design Hotel concept to the Maldives by opening Cocoon Maldives in December 2016. Cocoon Maldives located in Lhaviyani Island offers 150 villas and suites all designed by innovative Italian designers LAGO, who have dreamed up and designed something exceptional.

As of today, Maldives records 835 positive cases, 801 active cases of COVID-19 and a total of 29 recoveries and 3 unfortunate deaths.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has classified the spread of COVID-19 as a global pandemic. The new strain of novel coronavirus has infected over 4.1 million people and claimed over 282,947 lives around the world. However, out of those infected, more than 1.4 million people have recovered.
