The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) is showcasing the unique offerings of the Sunny Side of Life to Chinese travellers at the Beijing International Tourism Expo (BITE) 2025. Taking place from 27th to 29th June at the China International Exhibition Center (Chaoyang Venue), MMPRC is participating in the event alongside six prominent industry partners to strengthen the Maldives' position in the Chinese travel market.

The Maldives is being represented at Stand 6T11, featuring photo opportunities, promotional video displays, and one-on-one business meetings with travel trade professionals. Co-exhibiting partners include Try Maldives Holidays, Plumeria, Sun Siyam Travels, ICOM Marina Sea View, Diamonds Thudufushi Beach & Water Villas, and Courtyard Maldives. These partners are presenting a diverse range of travel products, from boutique accommodations to comprehensive holiday experiences.

This participation forms part of MMPRC’s broader strategy to sustain momentum in the Chinese market and promote the Maldives as a premier long-haul, year-round destination. As of 11th June 2025, the Maldives has recorded 122,088 arrivals from China, following a total of 263,340 Chinese arrivals in 2024. China remains the top source market for the Maldives in 2025.

MMPRC’s involvement in BITE 2025 complements a series of successful campaigns rolled out across China this year. These initiatives include high-impact digital activations, joint promotions with leading tour operators, and media familiarisation trips. Targeted activities such as Visit Maldives Week in China and participation in regional tourism forums continue to enhance destination visibility and support sustained growth from this key market.
