Maldives Achieves 90% of the Tourist Arrival Goal Set for 2021, Having Welcomed More than 923,000 Tourists

The Government of Maldives has announced that the island nation has welcomed more than 923,000 tourist arrivals so far in 2021. This counts for 90% of the target tourist arrival goal set for the end of the year by Ministry of Tourism and Visit Maldives. 

According to the latest statistics revealed by Ministry of Tourism, the top five markets to Maldives recorded from January to mid-October were India, Russia, Germany, U.S.A and Saudi Arabia, respectively. 

Maldives was one of the first countries to reopen its borders to tourists, where currently, 93% of resort employees are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, boosting traveler confidence. With implemented safety precautionary measures and vaccination campaigns, Maldives is regarded a safe haven for all guests.
