The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has partnered with the Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) to develop a new airport in R. Fainu. This project is anticipated to support local businesses, generate job opportunities, and foster the growth of tourism in Raa Atoll. Presently, the only operational airport in the atoll is located in Ifuru.
The development will include conducting feasibility studies, environmental impact assessments (EIA), and designing the airport, ensuring that the process is both effective and environmentally conscious.
