Maldives Transport and Contracting Company Plc (MTCC) has been contracted to establish an airport at Muli of Meemu Atoll.
The project was handed over to MTCC by the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (MNPHI) during a small signing ceremony held yesterday. During the special event, CEO Adam Azim signed on behalf of MTCC and Director General Fathimath Shaana Farooq signed on behalf of the MNPHI.
MTCC is tasked with the design and development of the airport as signed in the agreement. Airport project work involves, reclamation operations of 14 hectares; coastal protection operations of 1,812m; construction of a 1200m x 30m runway; taxiway and an apron.
This project worth MVR 221.733 million is expected to be completed within 365 days.
