Andrew Jansson has been appointed as new general Manager at
Kurumba Maldives starting from 1st September 2019. The entire
operation of its property and their continued strategic development will be
managed by Andrew as his new responsibility.
Born in the country of Sweden, Andrew has travelled across 4
continents and 14 countries taken by his hospitality career making him a veteran
in the industry. In 2009, he had opened Shangri-Las Villingili Resort and Spa
as Director of Food & Beverages, making him no stranger to the Maldives.
Andrew spent three years at One&Only Reethi Rah, working as the Resort Manager
on his previous assignment. He holds a Bachelors Degree from Endicott College,
Boston, MA and is a graduate of Les Roches Hotel Management School in Bluche,
Switzerland.
"Coming back to the Maldives feels like coming home. The
Maldives holds a special place in my heart, and it is an honour to be back at
the helm of the first resort ever in the country. Kurumba is a unique property,
with a remarkable history and recognition, and I look forward to being a part
of future milestones for the resort." Says commenting on his recent return.
Kurumba is a cosmopolitan Maldives island with a wide
variety of accommodation, diverse choice of restaurants and bars, vibrant live
entertainment, hosted social events and lots of activities to choose from, set
on a tropical island in the North Male Atoll, conveniently located a brief
10-minute speedboat ride away from the airport and Male city. Kurumba was the
first private island resort in The Maldives opened in 1972.
