If you’re eagerly awaiting the chance to travel and are currently searching for the perfect place to visit a little later this year, Komandoo Maldives in manta season awaits. The manta rays usually start to visit the cleaning stations from late September which is great news for those of you planning an ‘end of restrictions’ celebration escape.

Manta season in Lhaviyani Atoll usually starts with the mantas arriving at the cleaning stations during September and October, a well-known spot for encountering these iconic Maldives creatures is Fushifaru Thila. The rays glide, seemingly effortlessly, over the huge coral blocks for the cleaner wrasse to feast on the parasites in their gills and on their body and the resort’s divers get to enjoy an unforgettable display.

A little later in the season, usually during November, the mantas move to their feeding grounds on the western side of the atoll and aggregations of them frequent the lagoons very close to Komandoo. Snorkellers and divers generally enjoy encounters regularly right through until March or April.

Komandoo ensures guests that there is a very good chance at the right time of year for Manta sightings, especially if you join its scuba diving and snorkeling excursions often.

Coupling the beauty of the Maldives with the charm of a small resort, Komandoo is custom-made for romance. Award-winning attentiveness and a range of leisure activities guarantee a laid-back retreat, perfect for your honeymoon, a tranquil romantic escape or a getaway with friends. Komandoo is situated in the Lhaviyani Atoll, a scenic 40-minute seaplane experience from Velana International Airport, Male’.
