Varindera Constructions International Ltd (VCL) Group, a renowned Indian construction company, has received the necessary permits for the Blue Lagoon Commercial Arcade- a luxury apartment and retail complex in Maldives.
Designed as the country’s first open-concept mall, the three-storey development will feature shopping, dining, entertainment and wellness facilities. VCL said construction is scheduled to begin next month. The arcade will be built in front of the Blue Lagoon Apartments.
The Blue Lagoon Project is described as one of the most ambitious developments ever undertaken in Maldives, aiming to redefine luxury living. The design includes a range of facilities intended to blend comfort with natural beauty.
The 18-storey apartment complex will consist of two towers, covering more than 35,000 sq ft. The site will feature a 15,000 sq ft clubhouse, a 2,638 sq ft gym and a 1,713 sq ft family entertainment centre. Other amenities include a 1,900 sq ft multipurpose hall, a 2,638 sq ft children’s play area, a 15-seat theatre, a daycare centre and a 4,564 sq ft garden.
The 24,000 sq ft rooftop garden will include jogging tracks, orchards, cabanas and barbecue zones, along with what is set to be the largest rooftop swimming pool in Maldives. The complex will also offer electric vehicle charging stations, private parking and 24-hour surveillance.
The Blue Lagoon will feature apartments ranging from 1,035 sq ft two-bedroom units to three-bedroom units measuring 1,795, 1,825 and 1,875 sq ft.
VCL Group, which is developing the project, has completed more than 175 projects in India and Mauritius. It has also delivered 1,400 housing units under FDCs Aman Dhoadhi Tower project in the Maldives, earning a strong local reputation.
