Newly Elected Council of Thoddoo Meets with Guesthouse Operators of the Island

The newly elected Council members of Thoddoo has met with the guesthouse owners and operators of the island. Ahmed Karam, former president of Guesthouse Association of Maldives, now appointed as the new president of Thoddoo island Council participated in the discussion. 

During the meeting, concerns of guesthouse operators and owners were shared in which both parties together with the council discussed of the most appropriate solutions and future plans for the promotion of Thoddoo guesthouse tourism. 

Additionally, the participants discussed plans of introducing a Thoddoo Guesthouse Board. 

According to the latest reports publicized by the Ministry of Tourism, out of the total 723 tourist establishments currently in service, 422 are guesthouses with 7,692 operational beds. These guesthouses are in operation across 57 islands of the Maldives.
