Dhiraagu Awards Prizes to the Winners of Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race 2025

Dhiraagu has awarded prizes to the winners of Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race (DMRR) 2025 at a special ceremony held on 13 November 2025.

This year’s DMRR awarded a total prize pool of MVR 256,000 to its winners. Champions of the DMRR 21.1K category were awarded MVR 25,000 as a cash prize with MVR 15,000 for the runners-up and MVR 10,000 for 2nd runners-up while 10K, 5K - Open and 5K – Corporate team champions received MVR 10,000 with MVR 8,000 for the runners-up and MVR 6,000 for the 2nd runners-up. Winners of the 5K School categories were awarded special gift vouchers, with MVR 5,000 worth gift vouchers for the champions, MVR 3,000 for runners-up and MVR 1,000 for 2nd runners-up.

In addition to this, Dhiraagu also recognised runners from 21.1K and 10K categories who came in 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in age groups 45-50 years, 51-55 years, 56-60 years and 61-65 years.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dhiraagu CEO & MD, Mr. Ismail Rasheed stated ‘’United by a shared purpose to protect children, the Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race is more than just a run, it is a celebration of unity, community spirit, inclusivity, and our care for the environment. Every stride you have taken and every ounce of energy you have given has contributed to this meaningful cause. Thank you for being part of this journey and for making this year’s run such a resounding success’’

Dhiraagu also awarded MVR 678,800 to the 13 DMRR endorsed NGOs, including the total MVR 200,000 donated by the company to the top five NGOs nominated by the runners. Proceeds from each runner registration and nice bib number sales were also awarded to all 13 partner NGOs to help kickstart their activities to help protect children.

The 16th edition of DMRR held on 24 October 2025 at Central Park, Hulhumalé, brought together over 4,500 runners as the largest run in the Maldives. Participants representing 44 nationalities, along with students from 28 schools and 128 corporate teams, took part in this year’s run. In addition, this year’s DMRR marked a significant sustainability milestone by powering the event with renewable energy and achieving a 100% electricity offset.

During the ceremony, Dhiraagu also announced the date for next year’s Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race as 30 October 2026.

Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race is the only international run held in the Maldives which is listed in the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) World Running calendar with a World Athletics-certified race route.
