Maldivian adds a new Seaplane to its fleet

A new seaplane has been brought in for the fleet of national airline, Maldivian. 

With this new twin otter addition , Maldivian will have 10 seaplanes operating from Velaana Intl Airport catering for domestic tourist transport to resorts. 

The national carrier "Maldivian" fleet currently stands at 21 aircrafts, which includes two Airbuses, ten seaplanes and nine Dash-8 aircrafts used in domestic travel and flights to Trivandrum occasionally.

In an effort to expand the seaplane service, Maldivian has designed a special maintenance hangar for Twin Otter seaplanes. The national airline said that even though the seaplanes currently fly to resorts alone, they would be expanding the seaplane flights to the inhabited islands during this year.
