Dhiraagu Appoints U18 Junior Surfing Champion Kayan as Newest Youth Brand Ambassador

Dhiraagu announces Kayan Abdulla Areef, Maldivian U18 junior surfing champion, as the company’s newest Youth Brand Ambassador.

Kayan was officially awarded the brand ambassadorship by Dhiraagu’s Director, Brand & Marketing Communications, Mohamed Mirshan Hassan, at a special event held at Artificial Beach today. Kayan is a rising star in the surfing community, currently ranked as the no.1 surfer in the Under 18 category in the Maldives, securing three championships in the junior category.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dhiraagu’s Director, Brand & Marketing Communications, Mohamed Mirshan Hassan stated, “We are honoured to have a rising young talent such as Kayan as the newest Youth Brand Ambassador of Dhiraagu.” He further highlighted that the company places great emphasis on empowering young people and encouraged Kayan to continue his efforts to remain the best.

Dhiraagu also held a kids’ surfing clinic commemorating this year’s World Oceans Day at Artificial Beach today. The special surf clinic, endorsed by the Maldives Surfing Association (MSA), took place with new Youth Brand Ambassador, Kayan. Through the session, the young participants were able to learn about the ocean, different surfing points and safety tips as well as beginner techniques.

Last month, Dhiraagu kicked off the company’s Youth Brand Ambassadorship programme by appointing Fathimath Dheema Ali, esteemed table tennis player and the first Maldivian athlete to be qualified to the Olympic, as a Youth Brand Ambassador.

Dhiraagu has been continuing their Brand Ambassadorship programme for over decades and have associated with some of the prominent figures in our community such as the legendary late Ahmed Nashid (Zero Degree), Ibrahim Areef (Surfer), Abdul Gafoor Ali (Gabbe), Hassan Saaid, Zoona Naseem (Zoonti) and many more.
