Initiated prior to the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan as a joint effort by the Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO), the National Boating Association of Maldives (NBAM), Male’ Aerated Water Company - Coca Cola, and Manta Air to provide food packages for 500 people whose lives have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The team confirmed that they have delivered more than 15,000 packages to expats and locals in facilities maintained by the government in various locations.
The collaborative work has shown an outstanding example of community support, while continuing to expand and increase the number of deliveries. This service will go on until the end of Ramadan. Despite the unfavourable weather conditions at times and other challenges, food is prepared and delivered for every meal time in coordination with focal points and support from Salsa Catering, says MATATO.
