Nishantha Parana Vithanage joins The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands as Executive Chef

The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands has welcomed yet another phenomenal recruit, Nishantha Parana Vithanage to the post of Executive Chef.

 

Nishantha hails from a culinary family background in Sri Lanka, with over 30 years of diverse culinary experience in top quality hotels and resorts in the Maldives, Oman and Sri Lanka. 

 

Most recently, Nishantha held the position of Culinary Director for The Small Maldives Island Co, looking after the culinary operations of Amilla Fushi aand Finolhu Resorts, before joining The Ritz-Carlton Maldives.

 

Nishantha started off his career in the culinary world at the age of 22 in his native Sri Lanka, working at Ramada Renaissance and Hilton Colombo, before moving to Oman to work with Salalah Holiday Inn.

 

In 1996, Nishantha arrived in Maldives to join Baros Holiday Resort, where he worked as an acting Executive Chef for over a year and was responsible for four outlets including the staff dining.

 

Since then, Nishantha has continuously enjoyed successful stints in the Maldives where he held various senior leadership roles for the pre-opening of the Maldives Hilton Rangali Resort, a further seven years with Huvafen Fushi by Per AQUUM and another year with Jumeirah Vittaveli before returning to Sri Lanka in 2013 to work for a 6-month contract as Consultant Chef for a catering establishment Waters Edge in Colombo.

 

Nishantha was delighted to return to the hotel industry in 2014 to work for the ultra-luxury, all-villa resort in the Maldives, One&Only Reethi Rah with a team of over 100 chefs to create a memorable culinary experience for high clienteles.

 

A three decade-long career in the culinary world, Nishanthas extensive knowledge in the culinary arts and infused local touch will give The Ritz-Carlton Maldives elite guests a truly unforgettable dining experience.

 

Scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2020, The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands is made up of 4 islands with 100 island and overwater villas, plus 5 food & beverage options distributed among the islands. On top of the all-day dining option, guests can enjoy Italian, Chinese and Japanese teppanyaki specialties.

 

Uniquely design facilities include an experiential Kids Club, Recreation Club and Spa. Guests will have the unique opportunity to live in a purpose-built village campus, with quality accommodation, with its own beach, entertainment and resort lifestyle facilities, which includes a dedicated learning centre. The Fari Islands is 50 mins away from Velana International Airport by speedboat and 10 mins via seaplane.
