Mirihi Island resort has concluded an eventful year with new accolades, appointments and creative festive celebrations.

Wishing a happy, healthy and a prosperous new year from Mirihi Island Resort, Fernando and Chef Alex along with the team put together an exhibition of the best cuisines from the world over, together with stunning original artworks by the resort's creative artist Danushka. The service team lead by Urs and Hussain was heavily praised for creating a magnificent atmosphere at Dhonveli and on the beach.

Last year, the over-water restaurant Muraka at Mirihi bagged the prestigious Wine Spectator Restaurant Award. Additionally, Mirihi won the World Luxury Hotel Award for the most Romantic Beach Resort of 2019.

Mirihi Island Resort was also awarded the main sponsor of the celebration organized by the Maldives Tourism Ministry, welcoming the 1.5 millionth tourist to the Maldives for 2019. A holiday package was presented to the lucky winner by the newly appointed Director of Business Development Erdal Altinok, together with the Minister of Tourism, Ali Waheed.

With over two decades of experience in the tourism industry, Erdal has strong sales & marketing skills, working in five star beach resort operations, and has expertise in resort products from luxury to basic in Indian Ocean and Asia.

The team at Mirihi is gearing up to celebrate Mirihi's 17th anniversary with some fun-filled events such as a football match against a neighboring resort and very special staff party. Maldives football legend Kuda Moosa is training Mirihi football team to bring the best of their talents in the field.

In the warm waters of the azure Indian Ocean lies Mirihi Island Resort. Combining modern and traditional elements, the small paradise has been freshly renovated and reopened in December 2014 with a new shine, but still maintaining its unique Maldivian character. Mirihi is located in the South Ari Atoll, reachable from Male on a 30-minute picturesque seaplane flight. Due to its size and limited number of Villas, Mirihi is considered as being one of the smallest islands in the Maldives.
