Launched in 2021 as part of Velaa Private Island’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, the Fehikuramaa initiative promotes sustainability within Noonu Atoll. It focuses on the 13 local islands, emphasizing the strong connection between resorts and surrounding communities. Velaa owner Smejc's commitment ensures that resources and care are shared equally across the Atoll.

In 2024, Fehikuramaa entered its fourth year with the "Homemade" theme, encouraging local communities to adopt sustainable practices. Workshops taught waste reduction, recycling, and creating homemade cosmetics, cleaning products, and repurposed items. This initiative highlighted the benefits of crafting by hand over using mass-produced goods.

Velaa also donated shredders to all 13 islands to aid composting efforts, helping convert food waste into valuable resources. Interactive workshops for children promoted sustainability, aiming to inspire the next generation to reduce, reuse, and recycle.

A major part of Fehikuramaa’s 2024 program was supporting the Manadhoo Amaan Veshi Centre, a home for girls in state care. Velaa upgraded the centre’s meeting room and built an outdoor library to encourage reading and learning. These improvements reflect Velaa’s commitment to the children’s education and personal development.

This year, Fehikuramaa expanded its environmental efforts by addressing waste and plastic pollution. Velaa partnered with local councils and businesses to promote farm-to-table concepts, introduced bulk selling systems, and distributed greenhouses and hydroponic systems across the islands. This helped boost Noonu Atoll's self-sufficiency in growing vegetables and herbs.
