Two talented chefs from the Maldives will be participating in the Asian Gelato Cup 2024 at the FHA-HoReCa in Singapore from October 23 to 24, 2024. The two-member team of chefs has departed to Singapore today.
The Maldives’ team comprises of Chef Ali Shamoon of Crossroads Maldives, and Chef Mariyam Lahufa of Jumeirah Maldives Olhahali Island, led by team manager and CGM’s Secretary General Chef Fathimath Umar.
The Maldivian chef-duo went through intensive practice sessions at Crossroads Maldives under the supervision of Chef Hassan Thohir, Chief Baker of Crossroads Maldives and Team Assistant Chef Mariyam Shaazy, a pâtissier and CGM Exco Member.
The Asian Gelato Cup 2024 is about creativity and innovation in crafting gelato. Participating teams will be judged in gelato making, plated dessert, gelato cake, an entrée with gourmet gelato, an artistic showpiece, and a final grand buffet. This competition serves as a regional qualifier to the Gelato World Cup 2026 in Rimini, Italy.
