Dhiraagu has announced that they are donating COVID-19 Sampling Kiosks to Ministry of Health to protect front line health care professionals and enable safe testing for COVID-19 in Maldives.

A total of 15 COVID-19 Sampling Kiosks will be donated by Dhiraagu to address the requirements of Ministry of Health to be placed in Greater Male and across atolls in Maldives.

The sampling kiosks will help protect front line health care professionals by preventing direct contact with suspected COVID19 patients and reducing the usage of Personal Protective Equipment which are currently limited in the global market. It will also help increase safe testing for COVID-19 in Maldives and address a key need in the community.

The innovative COVID-19 Sampling Kiosk model was first developed in South Korea and is now being developed in multiple countries to protect front line health care professionals. The shielding screen of the kiosk protects the health care workers from droplet transmission and being in direct contact with suspected COVID 19 patients while taking their samples. This also reduces the requirements of PPE changes by healthcare workers. It is the first time the kiosks are being introduced in Maldives.

The first prototype and product in Maldives was locally designed and developed by Print Lab Creative together with MNDF Sanahiya to fit all medical requirements of Ministry of Health and National Emergency Operations Centre.

Dhiraagu hopes that the Sampling Kiosks will increase safe testing for COVID 19 in the community and contribute to the protection of front-line health care professionals who are putting their lives on the line to save ours.
