Maldives TV has announced that the first ever global travel writers conference will be held in the Maldives.

Fifteen participants, including eminent travel writers, bloggers, photographers and social media influencers, from 10 different nationalities across the globe are set to attend this exclusive two day event

Travel Writers Conference is a chance for leading travel writers to come together and engage in a networking platform with industry professionals while providing businesses with opportunities to choose a travel writer to promote their businesses.

The conference aims to give the travel & tourism business the opportunity to understand the importance and impact travel writing has on the industry and its growth by keynote speeches and presentations given by travel writing experts.

Interesting topics for discussion will be present by key note speakers focusing on themes such as Progressive economy and sustainable tourism, Keeping a memory to a moment otherwise gone, Sharing experiences and the art of storytelling and Bringing the travel destination story to life through immersive technology.

Furthermore travel writing experts will also express their views and experiences during the panel discussions on various topics such as Turning factual travel stories into crafted narratives, Are luxury destinations failing in their storytelling? and Storytelling through digital: every travel experience starts with a search

Keynote speeches and panel discussions are to be held at Bandos Maldives resort on Sunday 17th September 2017, while a gala dinner with networking sessions will take place on Monday at Adaaran Select Hudhuranfushi

The partners for conference was announced at a ceremony held at Hotel Jen in Male Wednesday evening, where partnership agreements were signed for the World Travel Writers Conference

VIVA was announced as the event partner, while Print Lab was appointed the printing partner and Qatar Airways as the airline partner. Adaaran Resorts Maldives and Coco Collection are the official platinum sponsors for the event while Kandima Maldives and Bandos Maldives were named gold sponsors, and Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) and Hotel Jen as silver sponsors.

Associate partners includes the tourism ministry, economic ministry, customs service, immigration department, Maldives Association of Tourism Industry (MATI), Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO), Liveaboard Association of Maldives (LAM), Maldives Getaways, Maldives Insider and MVHotels.
