This April, Soneva’s award-winning Maldives resorts have planned an unforgettable Easter programme to delight guests of all ages. Sun-drenched April days at Soneva Fushi and Soneva Jani are filled with rare experiences, dinners with world-renowned chefs, visiting experts, transformative wellness treatments and an engaging seasonal programme of activities for Young Sonevians.

A much-anticipated seasonal treat at Soneva, both Soneva Fushi and Soneva Jani will once again be hosting an island-wide Easter egg hunt, with everyone invited to join in the fun. Wooden eggs are hidden around each resort, to be exchanged for delicious chocolate treats from the chocolate room, and egg-cellent prizes for the guest who finds the most eggs.

The ever-changing Soneva Stars calendar will welcome a scintillating line-up to the Maldives, ensuring every stay at Soneva is inspiring, unique and utterly unforgettable. Both Soneva Fushi and Soneva Jani will host culinary residencies from two exceptional chefs. Having worked shoulder to shoulder with some of the world’s finest chefs, including Alain Ducasse, Jean Francois Piege, Yannick Alleno and Eric Frechon, Amandine Chaignot unites her French roots with simplicity, spontaneity and sincerity. Carolina Bazàn is the founder of the Hidden Kitchen movement in Santiago and the talent behind Ambrosia, which has occupied a constant spot on Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants since 2014, which also named her Best Female Chef in 2019. Jancis Robinson, hailed as the world’s foremost wine critic and writer, will be sharing her extensive knowledge with guests at both resorts through tasting sessions and exclusive wine pairing dinners.

From the world of sport, the former world number one tennis doubles player, Jonas Björkman, will be making a very welcome return to Soneva Fushi. Having coached world-class players including Andy Murray and Mirjam Bjorklund, he will be offering one-to-one sessions on the island court. Soneva Jani will also welcome a legendary tennis star: world former number two singles player, Agnieszka Radwanska, who has 20 titles under her belt, including the WTA Masters Finals. Footballer Mikael Silvestre will also be returning to the Maldives in April, hosting his ever-popular LYFE football camp for Young Sonevians.

And James Haskell, one of the UK’s best-known rugby players, will be visiting both Soneva Fushi and Soneva Jani to run rugby camps for younger guests, as well as a fascinating talker’s table on mental health and business in sport.

Astronomer and science communicator Lars Lindberg Christian will take guests on a journey across the constellations at Soneva Fushi and Soneva Jani. Both resorts feature observatories that are home to the largest telescopes in the Indian Ocean, offering exceptional views towards the Maldives’ clear night skies, unobscured by light pollution.

Soneva Soul, Soneva’s new, transformative wellness concept, will welcome its latest Wellness Specialists to guide guests on a personalised healing journey that reconnects mind, body and soul. At Soneva Fushi, osteopathic expert Hortensia Corredoira will continue her long-term Soneva Soul residency, with private sessions that combine a traditional osteopathic approach with her deep knowledge of the body’s biodynamic, skeletal, muscular and craniosacral systems. At Soneva Jani, Julian Eymann will bring his more-than two decades of experience as a musculoskeletal and myofascial therapist, specialising in deep tissue, trigger points, sports massage and clinical advice. And television broadcaster, podcast host and yoga expert, Kristin Kaspersen, will be hosting a series of morning yoga and Soma Move classes at Soneva Jani, revealing the importance of starting the day with yoga to manage stress, increase energy levels and prevent injury.

Families with children can enjoy a fun-packed programme of activities at The Den children’s zone – from sustainable Easter crafts, mocktails and mini picnics to making a splash with an array of watersports and pool parties. Older children and teens can also join the Soneva Academy educational programme, which takes young learners outside of the classroom with immersive modular courses on the night skies, the marine life of the Maldives, island birdwatching and the Adventure of the Corbin, following in the wake of an ancient treasure galleon.
