MACL Donation to Purchase Curriculum and Training for Maldives Autism Association

Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) donates for the purchase of special Curriculum and Training for the Maldives Autism Association (MAA).  

The donation was handed over during a special ceremony held at MAA by Deputy Chief Officer of MACL, Mr. Ahmed Ibrahim and received by Chief Executive Officer of MAA, Dr. Ismail Shafeeu. 

The donation will be used to purchase the latest curriculum and assessment tool which is required to teach autistic children. The grant includes essential training required for two teachers at MAA.  

The name of the curriculum and the assessment tool is called Promoting the Emergence of Advance Knowledge (PEAK). PEAK is an assessment and intervention program designed to teach language and cognition to individuals with autism and neurodevelopmental delays and associated disabilities. The curriculum focuses on problem solving and critical thinking. PEAK contains 4 unique learning modules each of which is designed to teach children with a slightly different style. Together these modules weave a comprehensive intervention that has been shown to raise IQ improved adaptive functioning, teach expressive and receptive language, and enhance cognitive abilities.  

Speaking at the handover ceremony Deputy Chief Officer Mr. Ahmed Ibrahim stated, “Focused on helping the local community, CSR activities has become a top priority for MACL’s current management and today, we are proud to help MAA which we believe would have big impact for autistic children’s future.”
