Kaani Hotels & Resorts, the Maldives' leading hotel and guesthouse chain, has completed the first month of its new training initiative, "Coaching for Service Excellence." This company-wide program, guided by esteemed industry expert Dr. Abdulla Mausoom, responds directly to valuable guest feedback and reflects Kaani’s commitment to empowering its team while providing top-notch service.
“Our guests’ feedback is priceless, and we’re acting on it to elevate every aspect of our service,” said Ms. Asima Saleem, Chief Operating Officer. “This program not only equips our team members to deliver exceptional guest experiences but also supports their growth as future leaders in the hospitality industry. Our long-term goal is to meet the highest international standards, positioning Kaani as a model for outstanding hospitality in the Maldives.”
The initial phase of the program offered extensive training, covering interdepartmental communication and phone skills for enhanced collaboration and guest interaction. Additionally, sessions focused on sales and marketing to build expertise in guest engagement, as well as professional communication skills, both verbal and written, to ensure smooth service delivery.
The impact of the program is already visible among participants. “This training is both informative and enjoyable. We’re learning important skills for customer service,” shared Najah Abdul Raheem, a Front Desk Officer at Kaani Hotels.
Kaani’s commitment to talent development and creating sustainable opportunities is evident through this initiative. By investing in professional growth, Kaani is not only enhancing service standards but also building a skilled workforce and offering diverse career paths for its team members. The program is particularly valuable for Maafushi Island, providing local youth and recent school graduates with pathways to fulfilling careers in hospitality.
The "Coaching for Service Excellence" program will continue over the coming months, with training scheduled for all staff members. Kaani firmly believes that education and professional development are essential for creating lasting opportunities and empowering team members to reach their full potential.
