Hussain Shahid has been named the new General Manager at Noku Maldives, Vignette Collection, bringing with him over 25 years of experience in the hospitality sector.
Throughout his distinguished career, Shahid has held several senior leadership positions, including Resort Manager, Executive Assistant Manager, and Director of Human Resources at IHG Holiday Inn Kandooma Maldives. He has also worked with prestigious hospitality brands like Six Senses and Shangri-La.
Shahid's expertise spans multiple areas, including overseeing three pre-opening resorts and leading a rebranding initiative. Notably, he was part of the team that opened the Six Senses Zighy Bay in Oman. His career has not only been based in the Maldives but also internationally, showcasing his versatility in the global hospitality market.
In addition to his operational experience, Shahid has been deeply involved in the local hospitality industry. Since 2018, he has served on the Advisory Committee of the Maldives Association of Human Resources Professionals (MAHRP) and has chaired the Advisory Committee of the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Studies for the past two terms.
Shahid holds an MBA in International Hospitality Management, combining his strong operational and human resources background to lead Noku Maldives, Vignette Collection to greater success, fostering a dynamic and thriving team environment.
This appointment follows a recent announcement by IHG Hotels & Resorts regarding a partnership with Roxy-Pacific Holdings Pte Ltd, a prominent real estate and hospitality leader in the Asia-Pacific region. The collaboration will introduce IHG’s Vignette Collection brand to the Maldives, starting with the conversion of Noku Maldives, a 50-key private villa resort located on the scenic island of Kudafunafaru. Scheduled for a December 2024 launch after refurbishment, the resort will join IHG’s Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio.
The Vignette Collection features a distinctive range of properties, each offering a unique identity while sharing a common vision of providing travelers with an authentic experience, supported by IHG’s renowned reputation and loyalty programs.
