Summary
Sun Travels, one of the country’s longest-established inbound travel companies, has been rebranded and relaunched as an online platform designed to serve the broader tourism ecosystem in the Maldives.
Sun Travels, among the oldest inbound travel companies in the country, has been rebranded and reintroduced as an online platform aimed at supporting the wider tourism network in the Maldives. The upgraded platform is now accessible to guesthouses, hotels, safari boats, and various operators, providing a consolidated area for displaying and reserving tourism services.
The new brand was launched on Thursday evening during a ceremony at Sun Siyam Olhuveli, with attendance from Sun Siyam Group Chairman and Managing Director Ahmed Siyam Mohamed, senior officials from the company, and representatives from major tourism agencies.
The newly revamped Sun Travels presents a model for the industry that seeks to unite accommodation suppliers of every size. The platform aims to establish new commercial opportunities for operators and broaden market access throughout the sector by providing an inclusive range of "available beds in the country."
During the event, Zulaikha Manik, Deputy Managing Director of Sun Siyam Group, emphasized the firm's enduring dedication to assisting tourism enterprises in the Maldives. Looking back on her time with the team since 1996, she mentioned that the new platform captures the same essence of support and teamwork that influenced her formative years in the field.
Speaking to the attendees, Siyam discussed the entrepreneurial principles that shaped Sun Travels during its early years and aided its swift expansion. He stressed that the rebranding aims not only to highlight the group’s own properties but also to foster shared value and opportunity throughout the sector.
“I invite everyone to include all available beds in this portfolio,” he stated. “Across all guesthouses in the nation, throughout all hotels, for every bed — we embrace everyone without bias.”
