Local carrier, Manta Air has collaborated with MATATO, NBAM and Coca Cola in their food support effort for 500 locals and expats in these unprecedented times of a pandemic.
The airline extends support in delivering meal packages to these individuals, who are currently residing in shelters and have been in quarantine facilities handled by the government and Red Crescent. Airline staff including pilots are reported to be participating in the delivery service.
The effort put together by these organisations to continue with this service for 30 days, till the end of Ramadan is highly commendable and sets an outstanding example for the Maldivian community.
Despite the challenges such as unfavourable weather conditions, food is prepared and delivered for all meal times in coordination with focal points and support from Salsa Catering, informs MATATO.
Over the month of Ramadan, 30,000 meal packages are estimated to be produced and delivered across shelters and facilities.
