Maldivian plans repatriation of its nationals from Colombo and Cochin

The national carrier, Maldivian has announced plans to operate repatriation flights from Colombo, Sri Lanka and Cochin, India to bring back Maldivian nationals, who wish to return back to the country. 

The repatriation flights are scheduled to take off on 05th and 06th April 2020. Two flights will operate to Colombo on 5th April whilst one is scheduled to fly on 6th April, to Cochin. Those with possible interest to return back are informed to send in requests with passport copies, name and contact details to the airlines Viber.

Maldivian has recently revealed that they have stopped taking bookings for 05th April flights to Colombo for the moment as they have reached full capacity. However, the airline will notify customers with other flight opportunities as they become available.

According to Maldivian Marketing Manager Moosa Waseem, additional flights will be scheduled if the number of requests to return exceeds the capacity of current operations.
