Franiatte, the head of Airbus in Russia mentioned during MAKS 2019 air show
about the ongoing operations currently, in cooperation with the Russian
Aviation Authorities to complete the process before the end of 2019, reports a
Russian Aviation insider. Airbus A220-300 variant is said to be authorized
first.
The latest
model introduced to the aviation market, Airbus A220 aircraft is estimated to
get its certification for operation in Russia by the end of 2019.
Airbus says
that it sees potential of the A220 in the region and "is already in talks with
a number of Russian carriers".
Two state-controlled
leasing companies named, Ilyushin Finance Co (IFC) and State Transport Leasing
Company has a total of 20 A220-300 crafts on order at the time.
The first Russian
carrier expected to fly the A220-300 is still unclear.
