SAA to operate more flights to Addu City in mid-2019

Minister of Tourism Ali Waheed confirms that more flights from South African Airways (SAA) has being scheduled to fly to the Southern Most Atoll, Addu City during mid-2019.

The management of SAA, during a meeting with the Tourism Minister noted the airline's charter flights from Johannesburg to Addu City have been performing beyond its expectations since it began operations in December 2018. The reason been the decision to increase flights from mid-2019 and considering other Maldivian destinations. 

The airline has also brought in a drastic increase in South African tourists to the Maldives, adding 2-tons of cargo imports each flight.

South African Airways (SAA) is South Africa's national flag carrier airline. Rated by performance, flight routes covered and revenues, South African Airways is Africa's largest and best airline. Founded in 1934 after Union Airlines was acquired by the South African government, the airline is one of the oldest carriers in the country. South African Airways is a member of the Star Alliance, the biggest airline alliance in the world. It is also the only South African Airline earned the prestigious Skytrax 4-star airline ranking. It is also the Skytrax best African Airline award for numerous years. South African Airways' headquarters are in Airways Park in Kempton Park, Gauteng. From this international hub, it flies to 38 domestic, regional and international locations.
