The Third Edition of Maldives Travel Conference to be Hosted with PATAs Human Capacity Building Programme

Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) has announced that the third edition of Maldives Travel Conference will be held in the Maldives on 22nd November 2018. The theme for this year s conference will be centred around growth and sustainability.

Maldives Travel Conference was first launched in 2016 as part of Maldives Travel Awards with the intention of creating a platform Maldives to lead international dialogue and debate on challenges and opportunities that the tourism industry unfolds.

In 2016, the conference focused on for main topics with the importance of promoting the Maldives overseas,  changes to the nations luxury travel industry, the ongoing transformation of the archipelagos tourism sector, the opportunities and the challenges faced by the industry.

According to MATATO, registration is now open for the Maldives Travel Conference 2018 for all sectors of the travel industry. MATATO expects more than 250 people to join the conference this year.

The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) will also be staging the second edition of the PATA Human Capacity Building Programme in the Maldives, as part of the Maldives Travel Conference, under the theme "Growth Hacking: How to Scale Your Business exponentially". 

In response to the success of the PATA Human Capacity Building Programme held in the Maldives on 12-17 July 2017, the second edition of this intensive and interactive training programme will incorporate a series of classroom interactions conducted by leading travel industry experts coupled with practical activities and networking opportunities.

The programme content is based upon the successful PATAcademy - HCD event held at the Associations Engagement Hub in Bangkok. Participants gain hands-on experience by working both individually and on team basis projects, where presentations are shared at the end of the programme. From this intensive high-value training, participants will take home practical marketing strategies to be applied and implemented in their respective organisations.

Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) is a non-profit organisation that has been working the last ten years to foster and promotes SMEs of local travel agents.

The association has engaged themselves in various activities over the years from advocacy, training, and workshops, travel trade fairs in many parts of the world, media FAM trips, government lobbying, recognition programs such as Awards, travel conferences and forums, publications, destination marketing, whistle-blower programs, representation and much more.
