Crystal Sands Maafushi Moves to Full Solar Power

Crystal Sands Maafushi has become the first ever hospitality outlet in the Maldives to be powered fully by solar energy instead of conventional electricity.


According to Crystal Sands, the guesthouse have employed the solar panels on the roof which will be providing power for all of its rooms. The power needed for all of the in-house needs and the 18 rooms of the guesthouse will be produced through these panels.


Though Crystal Sands become the first ever guesthouse to completely drop conventional electricity, several resorts and other guesthouses employ solar powered energy but not completely.


Recipient of multiple travel and tourism-related awards, Crystal Sands is considered one of the finest guesthouse venues operating currently in the Maldives.


Crystal Sands provides modern yet cosy rooms with free WiFi on Maafushi Island. Featuring its own restaurant, the property also has a tour desk, 24-hour front desk and garden for guests to relax in.


Crystal Sands is accessible via a 30-minute speedboat ride or a 1.5-hour ferry boat ride from Malé. Malé International Airport is a 30-minute speedboat ride away.
