Dusit Thani Maldives has unveiled a brand new welcome sign created by traditional coral limestone carving. The signboard was revealed by the resorts General Manager, Reinhold Johann, with the help of guests, at a management cocktail party held in the main reception.

According to the resort, the new guests stepping foot onto the arrival jetty of the resort will now be greeted by an immediate glimpse of Maldivian history and culture.

Carving coral limestone is one of the oldest crafts practised by Maldivians and was historically used to build temples, mosques, wells and to sculpt statues for worship. Some of the intricate symmetrical and floral designs show strong influences of Islamic art.

Dusit Thani Maldives offers 94 villas and residences, along with three restaurants, two bars, one of The Maldives largest infinity pools, outdoor cinema, extensive Kids Club and the award-winning Devarana Spa with elevated treatment villas among the coconut palms. The resort is surrounded by white sandy beaches and a rich 360-degree house reef.

The resort is located on Mudhdhoo Island in Baa Atoll, The Maldives first UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, just 35 minutes by seaplane from the capital city, Malé.
