MATATO Maldives Travel Awards: Gala Edition 2018, the most prestigious travel awards in the Maldives, is now open for nomination.

The application for the Maldives Travel Awards: Gala Edition was officially launched at the MATATO annual Iftar breakfast held at Hotel Jen by the President of MATATO, Abdulla Giyas Riza.  

The Gala Edition of the Maldives Travel Awards is a special edition for hotels, resorts, airlines and liveaboard brands where 25 awards will be given in different categories along with special recognition awards by the Maldives Association for Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO). Applications are open via the Maldives Travel Awards website.

Ooredoo Maldives was revealed as the Platinum Partner for this year's Maldives Travel Awards. Gold and Silver Partners were Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) and Allied Insurance Company of the Maldives.

Other partners of the event include; Blak as Advertising Partner, Sun Online as Online Media Partner, Maldives Insider as Travel Media Partner, Digital Studio as Photography Partner, NERN as Videography Partner, Kodefly as the Digital Partner, and Printlab as Printing Partner.

As per tradition started three years ago, the night before the Gala Edition, MATATO will host their annual Maldives Travel Conference where leaders in the tourism sector will meet and hold discussions.

Maldives Association of Travel Agents & Tour Operators (MATATO) was found in 2006 by a group of enthusiastic tour operators of Maldives. Currently, the association represents more than 50 travel agents and tour operators in the Maldives. Since 2006, MATATO remains the only travel & tour operators association representing the interests of tour operators in the Maldives.
