Maldives Islamic Bank Installs an ATM at Velana International Airport

Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB) has installed an Automated teller machine (ATM) near the International Arrival Gate and the Domestic Terminal at Velana International Airport. 

The machine was officially launched by the Managing Director of MACL, Adhil Moosa and the acting CEO of MIB, Ahmed Riza. 

According to MIB, the bank placed the ATM at Velana international airport in order to provide their services to those visiting the airport. MIB also states that the ATM will have multiple languages on the machine including the Bangladeshi language. 

Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB) is a collaboration between Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD) and the Government of the Maldives represented by the Ministry of Finance and Treasury.

The bank officially started its business operation on 7th March 2011. MIB aims to provide an alternative to the public and businesses who wish to avail themselves of banking transactions and dealings in strict compliance with Islamic banking principles.

In addition to MIBs ATM at Velana Airport, MIB has ATMs in Hulhumale', Seenu Hithadhoo, Gaafu Dhaalu Thinadhoo, Haa Dhaalu Kulhudhuffushi, Fuvahmulah City and three locations in Male' City.
