MATATO Signs Collaboration Agreement with Guesthouse Association of Maldives to Stage Maldives Travel Awards - Guesthouse Edition 2018

Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) and Guesthouse Association of Maldives (GAM) has signed a partnership agreement to stage Maldives Travel Awards - Guesthouse Edition 2018.


Under the agreement, MATATO says that GAM will be bringing in more guesthouses to participate in the Maldives Travel Awards - Guesthouse Edition 2018 while also supporting the efforts by MATATO to make the event even more successful and eminent. 


According to MATATO, the collaboration between the association and GAM brings another milestone for the Guesthouse Edition, which will see progressive changes in the future in the light of the professional expertise provided by GAM.


Maldives Travel Awards is a prize collection created by MATATO to celebrate the commitment, Excellence and Expertise employed in the Maldivian Tourism Industry and was first launched in 2012.


By introducing Maldives Travel Awards Guesthouse Edition in 2017,  MATATO aims to cater the demands of emerging businesses in the growing tourism sector of the Maldives. In addition to the current categories for guesthouses, MATATO will be bringing a total of 15 of the categories for this edition.


Maldives Association of Travel Agents & Tour Operators (MATATO) was found in 2006 by a group of enthusiastic tour operators of Maldives. Currently, the association represents more than 50 travel agents and tour operators in the Maldives. Since 2006, MATATO remains the only travel & tour operators association representing the interests of tour operators in the Maldives.


Guest House Association of Maldives is a Non-profitable NGO which was established in 2014 when a group of establishment owners got together to promote the local tourism industry.
