Oman Air Unveils New and Exclusive Premium Lounge at Muscat International Airport

Oman Air has recently unveiled its new and exclusive premium lounge at Muscat International Airport. 


"The new stylish premium lounge offers Oman Air guests a further unrivalled service as they travel."  Revealed the airline in a statement.


Oman Air passengers travelling in First Class as well as also Business Class can currently take advantage of the airlines new premium class lounge which offers a pre-flight oasis of calm.


"The beautiful interiors of the lounge have been influenced by the truly unique terrain found in Oman and designed to reflect the unspoilt, natural beauty of the desert and the rugged landscape of the mountains. Mashrabiya, a traditional element of traditional Arabic architecture, has been used to provide privacy in communal areas and add to the fluidity of the spacing," the statement noted.



Spread over two storeys, the lounge offers guests a wide array of food and beverage services, including dining areas, a luggage room, an entertainment area, a smoking room, prayer rooms, a business centre, a kids room, a nap area, shower facilities, baby-changing facilities and a wellness area. 


Covering 429.35sqm with an overall capacity of 100 people, the area designated for First Class guests offers services such as a personal chef, limousine service from the lounge to the aircraft and relaxation rooms. The Business Class area covers 2,313.92sqm and has an overall capacity of 516 people. 


Further to this premium lounge, the airline has said all First Class and Business Class international guests travelling by Oman Air to Muscat International Airport are invited to enjoy the impressive arrival lounge. 




Nature has been the inspiration behind this lounge, and the elegant and tranquil surroundings offer semi-public spaces with plenty of light. The service area is located at the upper corner to leave an ample communal space for guests to enjoy.  


The area of the arrival lounge located on the mezzanine floor on the arrival side of the airport covers 237sqm and has 90 seats. The service is especially valuable for premium passengers travelling on short flights worldwide as it allows them to freshen up after their flight, have some food or catch up on some sleep.

Founded in 1993, the airline has since witnessed massive growth and has played a significant role in making Muscat an important traffic hub in the Middle East, supporting the commercial, industrial and tourism sectors.

In addition, Oman Air flies to eleven destinations in India (Goa, Mumbai, Chennai, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Hyderabad, Delhi, Lucknow, Bangalore, Kozhikode and Jaipur); Karachi, Islamabad and Lahore in Pakistan; Kathmandu in Nepal; and Colombo in Sri Lanka. The airline also flies to Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Jakarta in the Far East, Guangzhou in China and Nairobi in Kenya. Its European destinations are London, Manchester, Milan, Munich, Frankfurt, Paris and Zurich.


Currently, Oman Airs fleet consists of four Boeing 787-8, three 787-9 Dreamliners, six Airbus 330-300s, four Airbus 330-200s, five Boeing 737-900s, 21 Boeing 737-800, four Embraer 175s and two 737 MAX.  By the end of 2018, Oman Air will have taken delivery of five new MAX aircraft and three 787-9s. By 2022, Oman Airs total fleet size is expected to be around 66.
