Minister Saeed Confirms as Chief Guest of Travel Trade Maldives 2018-Hotelier Summit

Honourable Mr Mohamed Saeed, Minister of Economic Development of Maldives has confirmed as the Chief Guest for the kickoff event of Travel Trade Maldives 2018-Hotelier Summit. 


Travel Trade Maldives 2018-Hotelier Summit will be held on the 30th of April 2018 (Monday) from 9 am to 1 pm at Bandos Island Resort and Spa


Minister Saeed is expected to inaugurate the 2nd Hotelier Summit and greet the Summit which will offer a solution-oriented platform that facilitates face-to-face meetings, networking activities, and information exchange amongst the most elite assemblage of hotel owners and general managers.


Speaking about TTM, Minister Saeed commented on the importance of bringing together Maldivian tourism industry stakeholders with a global network of travel agents and tour operators.  He also amplified on the need for Maldivian tourism industry to come together and work as a united entity with agents and operators to attract two million tourist arrivals per annum by 2020.


Founder and Director of Crown Company, Mr Ahmed Nazeer who also serves Secretary General of Maldives Association of Tourism Industry (MATI) will give the keynote address. Followed by the keynote would be the platinum partner speech given by Maldives Transport and Construction Company PLC, CEO Ibrahim Ziyath.


A total of 4 panels is scheduled to take place at the summit in which more than 150 hotel owners, general managers from resorts and hotels of Maldives is set to take part. Various topics are set to be discussed that are significant to the Maldivian tourism industry. A primary focus of the summit is to address where the Maldivian Tourism Industry is headed and how to think ahead.


The event speakers include Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Economic Development, Privatisation and Corporatization Board, MMPRC and MITDC. The Summit further accompanies international delegates from Booking.com, Expedia, AirAsia, Axisrooms, TUI, Kuoni, TravHQ, LonelyPlanet, and the likes. 


TTM aims to facilitate the tourism industry of Maldives to reach the ultimate target of 2 million tourists with over USD 3.5 billion in receipts by the end of 2020. More than 300 hoteliers, suppliers, related industries and travel industry professionals from the Maldives and abroad are expected to visit TTM to network, negotiate and discover the latest industry opinion and trends in the Maldives.


A total of over 100 hoteliers will exhibit at TTM 2018, which has been endorsed and backed by Maldives Association of Tourism Industry (MATI), Privatisation and Corporatisation Board (PCB), Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) and Association of Travel Agents (ATA), making it the premier travel trade show of the country. It is expected that along with over 140 resorts/hotels properties, 200 international buyers/media will attend the show.
