Maldivian To Handle the Management of Two New Airports

The national flag carrier of Maldives, Maldivian has revealed that the company will start operating two additional airports in the country.


Captain Mohamed Ameen, Director of Flight Operations of Maldivian stated that the national airline will be in charge of operating two airports which are currently in development. The government will announce this news shortly.


Maldivian currently operates four airports in the country including the one at B. Dharavandhoo and GA. Kooddoo.


Maldivian is the airline division of Island Aviation Services based in Malé, in the Maldives which operates international flights in addition to inter-island services. Its main base is Ibrahim Nasir International Airport.


The airline consists a fleet of Dash8-200 and 300 series aircrafts, airbuses and DHC-6 Twin Otter aircrafts. Currently a number of scheduled international flights  are operated by Maldivian Airline to six cities in China in addition to Bangladesh, Thailand and India.
