Maldives Airport Company Limited (MACL ) has launched mobile checking-in services in Velana International Airport (VIA) for passengers traveling with infants and who requires special assistance.

According to MACL, a staff of VIA will always be on duty to handle the checking process and luggage in the special area designated for the mobile checking-in services right in front of the checking counters. The area will also include boarding pass and luggage sticker printers

The mobile checking-in services were introduced as a part of the  52nd Anniversary celebration of MACL.

Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) is a 100% government owned Limited Liability Company governed by a Board of Directors appointed by the Privatisation & Corporatization Board of Maldives. MACL is the operator of Velana International Airport (VIA) the gateway to the Maldives.

MACL has embarked on the largest developmental projects in the Maldives, including a billion-dollar investment to transform Velana International Airport into a world-class airport.

Major projects include the development of a new runway which can accommodate A380 aircrafts, a new Cargo Terminal which can handle 120,000 tons, a new Fuel Farm which is 3 times the size of the present facility, a new Sea plane Terminal with MRO facilities, along with many other infrastructural developments.
