Maldives Customs Services Sets New Guidelines for the Declaration and Delivery of Goods to New and Upcoming Resorts

New regulations have been established by Maldives Customs Services for the declaration and delivery of goods to new and upcoming resorts.


According to the regulations which prevail over resorts currently undergoing construction and resorts to be constructed until the year 2020, the goods will be immediately delivered to the respective resorts after the declaration process with an issued fee.The resort fees will be calculated using a cubic meter or a metric tonne scale. 




Furthermore according to the statement announced by Customs, a fee will also be collected by the organisation for the staffs on site of the goods delivery.


Maldives Customs Service was established as a separate legal entity independent of the Civil Service under the Maldives Customs Act which was ratified on 11 May 2011. The Organisation is responsible for carrying out all necessary activities pertaining to customs in relation to import and export of goods to and from the Maldives while maintaining all the concerned accounts and to operate, manage activities of collecting import duties and export duties
