MIFCO Signs As Platinum Partner For TUNA 2018

Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) has signed on as a platinum sponsor for the largest global tuna industry meeting, TUNA 2018 which will be held in Bangkok this May. 


A press conference was held this morning at MIFCO where Managing Director of MIFCO, Adhlee Ismail mentioned that the company is putting a lot of effort to promote the hard work of the Maldivian fishermen.

"The aim of taking part in the Tuna Conference is to promote the Maldivian tuna products as the golden standard.The global market will be shocked by the eco-friendly Maldivian fishing techniques and the health benefits MIFCO carries." 


MIFCO said that under the numerous marketing events for the Maldivian fishing industry this year, several marketing events planned in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. And next month, they would be taking part in the largest Seafood fair being held in Brussels, Belgium. 


With the theme "Braving Challenges: Towards a Traceable and Sustainable Tuna Industry", the Tuna Conference will be chaired by Dr. Transform Aqorau, the former CEO of the Parties to the Nauru Agreement (PNA), and who now has a supporting and mentoring role as Legal and Technical Support Adviser. Joining him as co-chair will be Dr. Chanintr Chalisaparong, President, Thai Tuna Industry Association (TTIA).  Mr. Luciano Pirovano, Bolton Food Sustainable Development Director as well as Chairman of the International Seafood Sustainability Foundation (ISSF), will be delivering the Keynote Address.
