Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas is delighted that Ryosuke Yakuwa has re-joined the group following a 14-month break.

Ryo returns to the Six Senses family in the role of director of sales and marketing new projects and pre-openings. His invaluable knowledge and drive will be huge asset in the launching of six scheduled resorts in 2018 and the next wave of growth in 2019 and beyond.

Ryo first joined Six Senses in 2005 representing the Maldives properties as sales and marketing manager at a time when the destination was a relatively new product on the worlds hospitality stage. After several successful tenures as property director of sales & marketing in Fiji and southern Thailand, Ryo took the reins of his greatest challenge as the director of sales and marketing for Asia, Pacific and the United States.

With the usual commitment to achieving the best results for the group, he lead five key regional offices in the United States, Australia, Greater China, India and Japan to realign the dominant market segmentation from wholesale to transient and significantly grow room revenue during the five-year period he was in this role.

In September 2016 Ryo opted for a change of pace and decided to focus on a single property; he joined The Ritz-Carlton, Koh Samui as pre-opening director of sales and marketing. However, with the exciting line-up of Six Senses properties slated to open in 2018, he was enticed to return to the group and add to his 14-years of service, contributing to the renewed and impressive growth of Six Senses in his new role.

Ryo will play an active role in the opening of Six Senses projects this year in Bali, Bhutan, Cambodia, Fiji, Israel, Singapore and Turkey.
