Maldives runner up In the 2017 telegraph awards

Maldives has been named runners-up in the Best Country category at the 2017 Telegraph Travel Awards.

Maldives was placed second after Newzeland which was recognised as the best destination by the readers of The Telegraph. The 2017 awards marks the fifth consecutive time Maldives has come in the second spot.



Telegraph is the sixth most circulated daily newspaper in the UK as a result The Telegraph Travel Awards has become one of the most trusted in the industry with votes coming in from readers of the Newspaper. 

According to The Telegraph, its readers are among the most experienced, discerning and adventurous of travellers.



Furthermore According to The TelegraphAlmost 90,000 readers voted for the awards this year.
Looking at some of the other categories of the 2017 Telegraph Travel Awards; Cape Town was the winner in the Best City category, followed by Vancouver and Tokyo in the second and third spot. Oberoi Hotels & Resorts was named as the Best Hotel Group, followed in second place by Belmond Hotels and Taj Hotels taking third place.



Singapore Airlines took the award for the Best Long Haul Airline, followed by Emirates and Qatar Airways, in second and third place, respectively.
