Gili Lankanfushi Kick-starts a new wellness program with Fah Chanettee.

This winter, pioneering luxury eco-resort Gili Lankanfushi is expanding the horizons of wellness experiences with a revolutionary new program of international visiting practitioners.

The visiting practitioners will be hosting a range of holistic and progressive healing therapies ranging from energy flow and ayurveda to chi gung bodywork and salt therapy which will promote balance in body and soul. All of which will be offered in the spectacular over water surroundings of the islands Meera Spa.


Kick-starter of the new program of Visiting Practitioners is Fah Chanettee whom the resort is hosting this month. Fahs healing therapies focus on stimulating the five senses, promoting energy flow along the bladder meridian, balancing the chakras through color therapy, healing energy and aura imbalance.

For over 10 years in the wellness field, Fah had explored naturally motivated approaches from around the world, including herbal medicine and nutrition, a wide range of eastern and western massage techniques as well as holistic, energy healing and Ayurvedic therapies such a Abhyanga and Shirobhyanga, Mukha-Shirodara, Indian Head massage, Reflexology Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Aromatherapy, Reiki, Aura-Somo (the language of colour) and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP).

Fahs healing therapies center on the philosophy that as we learn to understand the body, we create the ability to listen to bodys innate intelligence.


The wellness program conducted by Fah Chanettee will last for a month and includes therapies such as:

 Five Senses

Sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch are basic perception to sense the world around us. Stimulating all senses will promote their ability to become more sensitive and intelligent. Focusing on face and skull areas by using pull, pinch and press techniques along with exceptional herbal oil to enhance all senses while relieving stress, migraine and facial sculpture from muscle tension.

Back Moving

From the belief of traditional Chinese medicine, the Bladder Meridian is the longest and the most complex Yang meridian. It starts from the eyelid and travels across the head, then goes down along the spine. Uses cupping, moving on the back to separate skin and muscle that stimulate parasympathetic nervous system. This will create energy flow along Bladder Meridian, giving you a calm and peaceful sensation. It also helps to relieve tension and symptoms such as headache, backache and urinary problems.

ME Remedy

Muscle tension is caused by many factors. For example, a typical backache might happen from back muscle itself, but many times it comes from legs and abdominal muscle. Knowing the right cause helps to deal effectively with the problem. According to Gililankan Fushi the innovative well being offering will continue into 2018, bringing together some of the wellness worlds leading practitioners on Gili Lankanfushi for a year-long wellness program at Meera Spa, with the full line-up of VPs to be announced later in 2017.

In addition the work of the Visiting practitioners will be complementing Meera Spas long-term Masters in Residence, experts in kundalini therapy bodywork and pain relief therapy, respectively. Master in residence Esther Bitongan Balaodan practices kundalini therapy bodywork, harnessing kundalini energy and working through the chakras to promote self-awareness, reduce stress and facilitate physical and mental healing.

 Gili Lankanfushi also offers complimentary daily sunrise yoga classes at the beach side Yoga Champa, as well as one-on-one yoga, meditation and visualization practices with the spa team.

 Devendra Prasad Pokhriyal, resident yoga and Ayurveda master, also specializes in pain relief therapy, using palm reflexology and ancient salt therapy to release deeply-held tension from within the neck, back and shoulders, to optimize emotional health and promote mental well being.


 Set on the private island of Lankanfushi in the North Male Atoll, Gili Lankanfushi Maldives is an intimate coral island in a sparkling lagoon, with jetties threading across the water out to spacious villa accommodations, where ultimate privacy can be found.
