South Asian Travel Awards recognized Cocoon Maldives as South Asias Leading Designer Hotel.

The event held at Equator Village, Addu City is an annual regional travel award endorsed by multi-national associations acknowledging the facilities and service excellence of the tourism sector in the South Asian region.

Cocoon Maldives designer experience blends luxury, design aesthetics, and hospitality in one exceptionally beautiful island. The unique resort was fashioned from the ground up to provide guests with the ultimate holiday experience flaunting renowned Italian Lagos floating-beds, forest swings and chic interiors.


Launched last year by Maldives-based event management company Highrise, SATA is the first ever regional travel awards endorsed by multinational associations, providing the tourism sector of the South Asian region with recognition towards their facilities and service excellence. It aims to encourage and raise service standards in the regions tourism industry.

Located on the stunning island of Ookolhufinolhu in Lhaviyani Atoll, only a short 30-minute seaplane ride away from Velana International Airport, Cocoon Maldives is best described as an actualization of a dream to create a unique designer resort that mixes luxury, design aesthetics, and hospitality into a unique tropical island paradise.


Designed by renowned Italian firm LAGO, Cocoons minimal interiors complement with furniture made from 200-year-old wildwood defer to the overwhelming beauty of the surrounding marine environment and lush green vegetation that envelope the whole island.
