Three properties from the Maldives have been handpicked for various awards by Leading travel Website Mr & Mrs Smith.

This year three properties from the Maldives One and Only Reethi Rah Resort, Soneva Fushi and Soneva Jani have made the list for different categories including Worlds Sexiest Bedroom, Best Pool with a view and the Best Family Hotel 2018.

The pool of the One and only Reethi Rah Resort, was shortlisted under the Best Pool with View 2018 category and was praised for being a geometric masterpiece.

"If Mondrian did swimming pools, he mightve conceived this geometric masterpiece." States the judges praising the hotel.

"The thick, clean, black lines, demarcating the 30-metre lap pool, internal Jacuzzi and carved stone bed are artfully laid out."

Soneva Fushi, nominated under the Best Family Hotel 2018 has been described as containing the greatest kids club in the world and numerous distractions for the little ones to ensure grown-ups will be spending their holidays fully relaxed.

"A clownfish-shaped pool, pirate ship, Ping-Pong hut, trampolines, mock tail bar, Lego room, dress-up area, zip line and a water slide from the main building theres every chance this is the greatest kids club in the world. " Said the judges of Mr & Mrs Smith in a statement.

"We should also mention the on-island chocolatier, telescope-equipped observatory, enlightening eco centre and on-site reef for all ages, too. With all those distractions, we grown-ups will be in the life-affirming spa…"

Soneva Jani is featured among the contenders for the Worlds Sexiest bedroom 2018 category, gaining the recognition from the judges for the resorts exclusive one bedroom water retreat.

"The best One-Bedroom Water Retreat here comes with both of the above so you can whoosh from your top-floor deck straight into the waves below, or just press a button and watch your roof recede to reveal the twinkling stars." stated the judges describing the bedroom.

Now in its fifth consecutive year, voting has opened for the annual Mr & Mrs Smith Hotel Awards Best Smith Hotel 2018. During October, boutique travellers around the world are invited to join a public vote to determine who merits the ultimate accolade, from the 1,000-strong Smith collection. The remaining 11 categories will be decided by an all-star panel of judges.

Voting will last until 31 October 2017 and according to Mr & Mrs Smith, anyone who takes part will be automatically entered into a prize draw to win a £1,000 Smith gift card.

With the results that will be announced on Thursday 18 January 2018, the awards aim to celebrate the worlds most stylish stays, while setting the agenda for the most desirable destinations in travel for the year to come.
