While ADDU CITY celebrates a weekend
of tourist fiesta having all the top hospitality brands from South Asia for
SATA 2017 at Equator Village. The Women's Development Committee (WDC) has
planned a festival namely "Island Festival" to showcase talent, taste and
crafts from the beautiful Addu City.
On the morning of 28th October, a
special transport has been organised with the support of Maldives Ports Limited
Busses to carry visitors to the Island Festival venue in Maradhoo.
During the festival, Addus women and
youth will showcase the arts and crafts including tastes allowing the visitors
to experience the local culture and way of life.
The event will also provide the
opportunity for visitors to buy Souvenirs and take home a pick from the
southernmost end of the Maldives.
The official flyer for the event
reminds people taking part to come equipped with their cameras, mosquito
repellents, cap, umbrella, sunglasses and the official SATA pass.
Launched last year by Maldives-based
event management company Highrise, SATA has been endorsed by regional tourism
authorities and organisations worldwide.
SATA is the first ever regional
travel awards endorsed by multinational associations, providing the tourism
sector of the South Asian region with recognition towards their facilities and
service excellence. It aims to encourage and raise service standards in the
regions tourism industry.
